Former Chicago running back Chester Taylor has agreed to put on the Arizona Cardinals jerseys shortly after taking off his Chester Taylor Bears jersey, Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times first reported. The deal will be for one year, Jason La Canfora of NFL.com reported on his personal Twitter account. Taylor made $7 million last season after signing a four-year, $12.5 million contract with Chicago in 2010. Taylor would have made $1.25 million in 2011 if the Bears decided to hold onto him. The Bears picked Taylor up from their NFC North rival Minnesota Vikings but did not get the expected return on the field. Taylor, who was picked up as a short-yardage back, gained 267 yards on 112 attempts. He also scored three touchdowns, which are nowhere near the rate Taylor maintained when he was a starter or first-year backup for Adrian Peterson in 2007. That year he produced 844 yards with 157 carries. He and Peterson combined to cover 2,185 yards in the 2007 season. Taylor’s rushing yards and attempts have been on a decline since the 2006 season, where he had his best year with 303 carries and 1,216 yards.
