New York Giants general manager Jerry Reese successfully predicted in the summer of 2007 that his team was good enough to win the Super Bowl. Four years later, Reese makes the same prediction.
Asked Wednesday how good he believes the 2011 Giants can be, Reese told ESPNNewYork.com, “I think this team is good enough, yeah, to go all the way. I do. I do.
“I think this team’s good enough. We have some young players, but we had some young players in 2007. We’ve just got to get off to a quick start, even though back then we didn’t start off quick. We lost the first two games.”
The guys in New York Giants jerseys finished the season by beating the 18-0 New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII.
“I was saying I believe this will happen. I believe we’ll make the plays that we didn’t make last year. I believe we’ll take care of the ball, and I believe we’ll make the playoffs, and I believe we’ll make a run. I believe those things, and this team is really not that far away. I really believe that.”
“So I think we’re in a good spot now. Watch us. Watch us.”
