Mayhew announced Detroit re-signed offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham and special teams coordinator Danny Crossman. He would reveal any specifics about their contracts. In addition, Mayhew said he plans to work on a contract extension for receiver Calvin Johnson, plus lock up defensive end Cliff Avril to a long-term deal, this offseason. “I think we have an opportunity to work on that this offseason,” Mayhew said about Johnson’s extension. “I do not think it is something that absolutely has to be done, but we have an opportunity to work on it.
